algorithmic trading strategies

Here is our stable of trading strategies

Our approach to trading methods or strategy is to use longer term charts – i.e., larger bar size –takes the volatility away, increases trending opportunities, and provides more reliable signals. We develop a wide array of systems to allow the trader to choose a system or strategy with a style to match his own ability to take on risk. While people have a tendency to think that a trading strategy that hits 60% win rate is perfect in its efficiency on entry and exit – i.e., it gets in at the low and out at the high, when it hits a winner.  In real life this is not the case, a good systems is lucky to get 62.1% efficacy. With that in mind it should be clear that money management is as important as the system itself. Put another way a mediocre system can produce great returns with conservative money manager versus a great system utilizing too much leverage.

Our goal is to do both well, provide you with a great trading system and good tools to manage the program.

The trick behind successful scalping is your rule of engagement, that is when do you use the systems and when don’t you. It is the primary reasons why too many people get beat trying to scalp the FX. What is typically the case is that after a sustained period of net profit on the account, an expected hyped up news event occurs while you are still trading like normal! This should not be the case, when their is a widely expected news event and the market knows when it is going to be announced or occur, you keep trading until the news event itself and stop a few minutes before it hits and wait for hours or days after the event until conditions return back to NORMAL. This is one of our overriding rules. What I call “The rules of engagement,“and are available to paid members. Want to scalp the FX, read more

Eclipsed GT trading system is a globex or an around the clock trader. Eclipsed is a change of trend type of trader. This approach is unique and one of its strong point as most systems are breakout or trend following types. Eclipsed –GT is tested to be  robust,  it can be applied to all primary economic sectors of the commodity futures markets: the financial group, the metals group, the energy group and the agricultural group, with a profitable edge. Eclipsed-GT has an average holding period is 3 to 4 hours. Eclipsed-GT uses 3 data streams in its formula, with one of them being considered the leading market. The Eclipsed strategies have dominated the top 10% of the Strategy Exchange rankings over the last two years. Eclipsed can day trade (DT) as well where it uses a custom session time that we provide for its trading.
The Gator! has three top ten markets. Since we have offered this program in the last 6 months its annual percent return ranks it 1, 3 and 4 our of all the 500 strategies monitored by Strategy Exchange. the three are Silver, Crude and Gold respectively. This system is inspiring and you will see on the linked page here why.

This systems is a sentimental favorite of mine. I learned about markets and risk from my father the founder of Alligator Raincoats Company, the raincoat that Peter Faulk made famous in his TV series Colombo. That may sound strange but besides being a risk taker, my dad taught me how to understand the retail market. I was taught that they are all driven by emotions, fades, trends and demands by the public to be in “vouge”. After an item goes out of fashion, prices are marked down to move the merchandise in a hurry to clear the racks for the new season. The commodities markets are no different. This systems is named after our famous raincoats the Gator

Eclipsed is a Fast Algorithm Range Breakout which uses adaptive breakout bands, a trend following filter and the %C market condition filter. It auto trades to you brokerage account with market orders or gives you prices if you want to work the orders yourself. As a day trader does not hold past the end of the day. Eclipsed Phase II targets breakout opportunity markets with a focus on the energy, metals and grains. Eclipsed Phase III uses a slightly different set up filters and is focused on the stock index futures. Average holding time is 1 ½ hours.

Wolverine is a robust swing trader with an average holding period is 4 to 5 days. Based on simple idea of initial momentum serge it enters long or short trades with the expectations of capturing a profit over several days. Wolverine is not always in the market like some other systems and picks it entries selectively. Our studies show it is producing a regular profit with typically not more than 30 trades per year. This strategy exists for more than 10 years; we upgraded it with our own and more up to date concept of momentum to gain increased profitability for the upcoming years. The TradeStation9® and NinjaTrader7® version features a complete for plug and play trades plus a user document is provided to enable the trader set parameters for the different price levels related to the markets to be traded.  Wolverine is a set-and-forget strategy, and unchallenged for the last 5 years and today is renewed for many years to come.
